NEST 2017 registrations to begin on 2nd of january, know how to apply


The National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar and the University of Mumbai - Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CBS) has published the examination dates for National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) 2017 on their official website.
As per the notice, the examination is scheduled to take place on May 27, 2017.

Eligibility criteria:

Educational qualification:

The candidates should have completed higher secondary school (class 12) from a recognised board or institute.

Application fee:

  • Male (General and OBC categories): Rs 700
  • Male (SC and ST categories): Rs 350
  • Female candidates: Rs 350

How to apply:

  • The eligible candidates can apply online, the link for the same is niser.ac.in .
  • Click on relevant link
  • Enter all the required details in a prescribed format
  • Click to submit
  • Take a printout of the same for future reference

Important dates:

  • Registration / Online application opens: January 2, 2017 (10 am)
  • Online application closes: March 6, 2017 (midnight)
  • Download of admit card start: April 14, 2017, 10 am  
  • Date of examination: May 27, 2017 (Saturday), 10 am to1pm
  • Announcement of results on NEST website: June 16, 2017

About NEST:

The National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) is a compulsory test for students seeking admission to National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) Bhubaneswar and University of Mumbai - Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS), Mumbai. Both NISER and UM-DAE CEBS were set up by Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India in 2007.
